Snooker pockets at The Crucible Sheffield are smaller it seems:

A Strachan Star Snooker Table with Steel Block Cushions

The Snooker Tables at the Crucible in Sheffield have caused controversy as the white ball is most likely not going to go in the pocket.

Whether this is fair or not the templates for the Star Snooker Table are just the same as they ever have been. There are 3 Templates for all manufactured Snooker Tables as shown in this Video:

There has been many matches where the white ball has fluke into the Pocket,

Without getting too much into details if the White Ball goes down the Pocket it's tragic for fans of the Snooker Players as well for the Players.

When Jimmy White made a foul shot in the 1990s I think maybe everyone was saddened.

Is this an example of Sport getting crooked, or was it Our Imagination that if Jimmy White used a Star Snooker Table back then maybe He would have won the Championship.

We like Jimmy White as He still takes His opponent to the wire. It would be funny if He potted the White now. Lol.

In other news, at the moment John Higgins and The Australian Neil Robertson is still favourite behind Judd Trump to win The World Championship.

It was definitely worth noticing the White Ball (Ali Carter Vs Gary Wilson) did not want to go down.

It seemed for courtesy Carter was trying to show that the White didn't want to pocket after He almost made a foul shot.

The Snooker Table Pockets are bigger!

The Snooker Table Pockets are actually BIGGER says Jack Wilson for The Express,

He reported:

'The biggest event in the sport began in Sheffield last week with the top names on the planet in action.

But TV viewers think they have noticed a problem - and they have taken to Twitter to discuss it.
It centres around how the tables at the Crucible are playing with some believing they have been deliberately made to favour big breaks, allowing more balls to go in.
One fan, with the username @snookerbacker, claimed he had been sent photographic proof to back up the theory by a ‘top pro’.
The image shows two pockets and infers tables used for BBC events play kinder to the players - due to the slope towards the pocket.
@snookerbacker wrote: “Pocket Talk. The two pictures have been sent to me by a top pro. One is the original Star table pocket and the other is the pocket for BBC events.”
The suggestion was dismissed by one user to which @snookerbacker replied:
“The player who sent them said the difference is huge and a massive leveller. 'Anyone can make big breaks on these’.”
Other fans have agreed with one writing: “The conditions are better than ever and the pockets are playing generous.”
“The pockets are ridiculously easy to whoever has watched 10 shots! It's not the new cloth! It's the slate's dropping point! A huge controversy that needs an official proof,” posted another.
While another said: “With the bucket pockets in the Worlds this year, expect a good few upsets #Snooker.”
A fellow supporter added: “Is it me or are at least the black pockets playing a bit loose? Maguire's first red looked way out to me. #snooker #ilovesnooker.”
Snooker pro Michael Holt picked up on the chat and revealed he had discussed the matter with Jason Ferguson, the Chairman of the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association.
Holt wrote: “They’ve been like this for a while. The fall is more curved but @jasonferguson5 says that the fall starts at the same point on each pocket. How curved/severe the fall is after this point is irrelevant. Apparently.”
But the claims have been knocked back by Mark Allen, who is competing this week in Sheffield.
He said: “For anyone who thinks we now play on buckets, you can come to mine and I’ll let you backtrack yourselves after a few missed pots and “how’d that not drop” remarks. Clueless.”
