Blackbirds and Pigeons are very intelligent says study:

Have You noticed how intelligent Birds are? Birds that notice Bird Feeders have a keen eye and a good sense of smell. 

Birds have manners too if You leave Silver Takeaway Boxes on Strings round the Garden Blackbirds won't nest there. 

Same thing for tying down a Helium Balloon with a weight. Blackbirds will not nest in these Gardens as the people are asking them not to nest there. Usually because of Cats and Dogs who would attack the fledglings. 

If You have a Bird nest in Your Garden or know of any, leave them alone, allow the Young to leave the nest, and if You are sensitive about Animals attacking, use the Silver Box and Helium Balloon routine says The Park Trust in Milton Keynes.

Cats rarely attack Sparrows Nests and Dogs will only attack if the Birds fly at them. 

If You see a Pigeon nesting in an unusual place ring the RSPB or www.theparkstrust.com or Your local council for advice how to help.
